Karate Taekwondo Kung Fu & Jiu-Jitsu for Kids
Teaching self awareness, self-confidence and self discipline to kids through modern martial art systems based on 800-year old Asian traditions.
We take a peaceful approach to the ancient Japanese budo and Korean mudo and Chinese wutao traditions. We practice in a formal but non-comparative atmosphere. The dojo / dojang (training hall) is a safe and clean environment where cooperation and community are reinforced. Martial arts can be an excellent choice of study among so many alternatives in today’s world for children.
Our kids classes
Our Lil’ Tigers range in age from 4-6 and our Karate for Kids is specifically designed for ages 7-12 years old. We focus on physical fitness, self control, patience, self confidence, and just having fun. We do a lot of rolling, moving and educational games. Flexible, convenient class times are available Monday – Saturday with tuition starting at just $39 a month after registration.*
Program Benefits
Here are some of the benefits of our program for kids:
Assuring children receive a solid grounding in techniques, terminology and customs
Strong foundation in ukemi/nakbop (rolling and falling safely to protect oneself) which allows for a tremendous understanding of the physical self with movement, balance and coordination
Improve self discipline through training regimen, meeting personal goals and participation in dojo activities
Build self confidence through increasing mastery of techniques and improved conditioning
Self awareness through a physical understanding of movement with intention and heightened awareness of fellow students’ movements and needs
Earn and command respect through instructors’ examples and appropriate behavior expectations
Emphasize improved physical fitness and conditioning adapted to the unique needs of each student
Assure family and parental participation via our easy to follow approach
Encourage participants to set goals and seek self-improvement through a flexible and individually challenging awards system
Prepare students for a seamless blending into regular adult training
Awareness and understanding of proper etiquette used at the dojo to help bring these new attitudes and connections into their daily life.
To get started
Have your child try a class. It’s fun and it’s free. Just have him or her wear something like sweat pants or gym clothes to move freely. When you come, we’ll ask that you sign a small liability form. The classes are safe, but any physical activity may have some risk of injury. You are welcome to stay to watch the class and meet the other parents. Afterwards, if you’d like to join, you can get a gi (uniform) and sign up. There are no extra sign up fees or contracts. All dues are month-to-month. A gi runs between $30 and $80 depending on the size and make. We have uniforms available at the dojo and you can purchase one through us if you like.
Our teachers and program
Our instructors have many years experience working with children. We’ve developed a training program that encourages kids to set goals and seek self-improvement through a flexible and individually challenging awards system. The program also encourages family and parental participation.

SSF Shamrock Submission Fighting MMA in Phoenix Arizona

Shamrock mma phoenix arizona
SSF SHAMROCK SUBMISSION FIGHTING
MMA For Intelligent People

SSF was created by UFC (Ultimate Fighting Champion) and mixed martial arts Champion Frank Shamrock.  Perhaps most respected for defeating both the Gracies and Tito Ortiz, Frank Shamrock is proven one of the most effective submission fighters on the planet.  The SSF System of grappling is unique in that it emphasizes structural mechanics, efficiency and strategy over brute strength.

The instruction includes elements of traditional Jiu-jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ), Shootfighting, wrestling, and submissions.  It is very relaxed, methodical, friendly and step-by-step so that students can master the skills without high risk of injury or intimidation.  It includes instruction in nutrition, conditioning and developing a strategy that works for the individual.

John Nottingham is one of a very select few individuals certified as Level II Instructors in this system and was taught personally by Mr. Shamrock.  John Nottingham's USA Martial Arts is listed in MMA For Dummies by Frank Shamrock in the officially recommended certified instructors section for Arizona.
