The Martial Art Style of Chuck Norris - Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan

Traditional Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do

USA Martial Arts curriculum is built on a foundation of traditional martial arts.  One such art is Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do, a classical system with roots in Korea.  It is also referred to by its ancient name of Soo Bahk Ki or Soo Bahk Do.  Made popular by such notable practitioners as action movie star Chuck Norris, and Hollywood choreographer of such films as the Karate Kid, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pat Johnson, Tang Soo Do practitioners have risen to the highest levels in martial arts and life.

"I credit much of who I am today to the traditional values I learned when I began martial arts training with my first teachers, Masters of Moo Duk Kwan, Kung Fu and Shotokan.  That is why we still preserve the pure original teachings of that system at USA Martial Arts.  We honor the past but also embrace the future to give our students the best foundation, education and experience possible."  - John Nottingham, Chief Master Instructor USA Martial Arts

Tang Soo Do for Children
Children have fun learning valuable self-defense skills.  Tang Soo Do improves concentration, coordination, attention span, self-discipline, school performance, and overall health.  Parents view it as a way to give their children a head start with a life long gift that has lasting benefits.  For many, they see traditional martial arts training as a way to reinforce traditional values like parents teach at home.

"We have forms and techniques from our family system that nobody else knows.  This is one part of the gift, a very special heritage, that we are passing on at USA Martial Arts." -John Nottingham, founder USA Martial Arts

The practice of Tang Soo Do dramatically sharpens awareness, enhances coordination, and perfects concentration.  One who studies the Traditional Art of Tang Soo Do can apply its rewards in all aspects of life.

Tang Soo Do for Adults
Authentic Tang Soo Do is a beautiful, ancient, art of self-defense. It is based on using the body as a whole rather than relying on the muscular strength of the arms and legs. It reduces stress, improves agility and speed, and its a great workout

"USA Martial Arts students have opportunities that other schools, sports and activities just don't offer.  Our students learn languages like Korean, Chinese, Japanese as well as culture, history and traditions that expand our student's world view.  We travel to Asia to train, tour and learn as well as bring in world -renowned teachers and performers.  We've trained at the Shaolin Temple in China, Olympic Taekwondo in Korea and with UFC Champions.  We work hard to see that our students have unparalleled opportunities and experiences."

Traditional Training
USA Martial Arts traditional training brings together elements from several disciplines including meditation, stretching, self-defense, core exercise, and strength training. In training, the mind, body, and spirit are inseparable; they harmonize with each other to create a perfect workout to reduce stress, improve posture, breathing, agility, and cardiovascular condition.
