Bullied Kids Get Help at Phoenix Martial Arts School

PHOENIX, AZ – Connor knows the fear, frustration and hurt that can come from being bullied. The 9-year-old Phoenix boy said, “They shove me around, trip me to the ground, I got choked by my backpack, kicked in the stomach.”

After trying to work it out with the school to no avail, his Mother Nicole enrolled him at USA Martial Arts & Kickboxing Phoenix. When martial arts instructor John Nottingham found out about it, he offered to help the boy with techniques he uses to train Police and bodyguards.

“I see kids like Connor all the time and my heart goes out to them,” said Nottingham. “I was bullied when I was a kid and know the pain it can cause. I wanted to make sure kids like him have the tools that they need to deal with bullies properly.  That's why I created the Bullying Prevention Initiative International to train other teachers and established the Arizona Bullying Prevention Initiative -The Phoenix Bullying Prevention Project to help children.”

With over 26 years of successfully teaching people how to deal with bullying he developed a bullying prevention program called John Nottingham's Bully Proof Vest
Along with the defensive techniques, Connor and the other youngsters in his class are learning verbal judo and tactical communication: language techniques to try and diffuse a situation that might lead to bullying.

Nicole said her son really changed.  She says it is like a totally different child, and even notices a big change in the way he carries himself, his confidence and even his grades. “Bully Proof Vest and his training here has completely changed him,” she said. “He’s not so afraid about being hurt or bullied anymore.”

Nottingham said his students are transformed through Bully Proof Vest and other training at USA Martial Arts “In just a short time, the kids are walking like their favorite heroes, carry inner-strength, and feeling good about themselves,” Nottingham said.

USA Martial Arts & Kickboxing Phoenix is offering free Bully Prevention (they don't call it anti-bully) training to all Phoenix families.  They are also providing a free guide handle bullying plus a Bully Busters audio interview by registering at info@usa-martialarts.com.
